Naihanchi Nidan / Tekki 2

 

Directions

 

1. Natural Stance - Start with the feet hips width apart pointing outward just a little. Relax the arms at the sides. Hold the fists lightly - don't squeeze them. You should be relaxed.

 

2. Double Elbow Raise - Step across with the left foot over the right. As you do this, pull both fists upward so that they are facing palm inward and then finish the technique with the elbows pointing outward to the sides and the arms parallel to the floor in front of the breasts.

 

3. Double Arm Block - Step upward so that the foot and knee arc upward and across finishing as the right leg comes down in a horse riding stance. The right arm should block inside to outward (clockwise) to the right with the left palm ending on top of the medial right forearm.

 

4. Double Elbow Raise - Step across with the right foot over the left. As you do this, pull both fists upward so that they are facing palm inward and then finish the technique with the elbows pointing outward to the sides and the arms parallel to the floor in front of the breasts.

 

5. Double Arm Block - Step upward so that the foot and knee arc upward and across finishing as the left leg comes down in a horse riding stance. The left arm should block inside to outward (counter clockwise) to the left with the right palm ending on top of the medial left forearm.

 

6. Both hands come to left waist. Left hand in fist is in the palm of Right hand, which is open.

 

 

7. Look Right. Right hand makes a circle left hand stays on medial aspect of wrist

 

8. Right Elbow smash. Left hand stays on right wrist as you step upward with right foot so that the foot and knee arc upward and across finishing as the right leg comes down in a horse riding stance as you twist and strike with right elbow.

 

9. Vertical Sword Hand Block - Look to the right, and sweep the right vertical sword hand from it's position on the left waist across to the right side. Hand sweeps outward to the Right. (at face level).

 

10. Draw and Left Hand Hook Punch - Draw the right arm back to the right waist as you hook punch with the left. From above, the hook punch should be seen to describe a nice rectangle in front of the body.

 

11. Inside Block ­ As you step to the Right do an inside block bringing the left arm (up) and right arm comes to the right waist.

 

12. Right Elbow smash with left fist under right elbow.

 

13. Both hands come to Right waist. Right hand in fist left hand open.

 

14. Look Left. Left hand makes a circle right hand stays on medial aspect of wrist.

 

15. Left Elbow smash. Right hand stays on left wrist as you step upward with left foot so that the foot and knee arc upward and across finishing as the left leg comes down in a horse riding stance as you twist and strike with left elbow.

 

16. Vertical Sword Hand Block - Look to the left , and sweep the left vertical sword hand from it's position on the right waist across to the left side. Hand sweeps outward to the Left. (face level).

 

17. Right Hand Hook Punch - Draw the left arm back to the left waist as you hook punch with the right. From above, the hook punch should be seen to describe a nice rectangle in front of the body.

 

18. Inside Block ­ As you step to the left do an inside block bringing the right arm (up) and left arm back to the waist.

 

19. Left Elbow Smash. Left arm raises and then comes back down on top of right fist.

 

20. Finish - Finish by standing up drawing the right foot back into the natural stance both hands in Jhum be poition.
