NAIHANCHI SHODAN

 

1) Start with feet together, upper arms even with sides of body. elbows bent upwards at approximately 45°, hands crossed in middle, palms up,right over left.

 

2) Both hands pivot , never losing contact between the palm of the left hand and the back of the right hand and then are thrust down and outward from waist at 45°.

 

3) Left foot steps to right side in back of right foot (feet are crossed), then right foot steps to right side into a horse riders stance. Right fist strikes outward to right side in a back knuckle strike. Left fist moves to left belt.

 

4) Pivot 45° to right as twist into right front stance. left elbow strike at mid waist area. right palm hand comes to left elbow.

 

5) Pivot back into horse riders stance. Right fist comes to right belt line, left palm covers right fist knuckles.

 

6) Left fist strikes downward at 45° on the left side of the body. Palm is pointed towards left side of body.

 

7) Right elbow strike in front of body as left fist comes to left belt line.

 

8) Your right foot crosses in front of left and then left foot steps out to left as you step into a horse riders stance As;

 

9) Your right fist moves circularly upward and out in front of you, elbow bent at 45° stopping in front of your chest.

 

10) Left hand make a half circle in front of right hand. Starting from the right elbow it moves up and out and then back in. ending up in front of upper chest. At he same time the right hand make a half circle the opposite direction, ending up in front of groin.

 

11) Right fist moves behind left elbow in front of body as left hand executes a fist strike with the palm up.

 

12) Inside of left foot comes up to touch inside of right knee. As you step down left fist comes back towards you then strikes back outward palm down. (side fist strike in front of you even with the left side of your body)

 

13) Inside of right foot comes up to touch inside of left knee. As you step down left fist moves to your left and then strikes back outward with palm up (side fist strike in front of you even with the right side of your body)

 

14) Both hands return to right belt line, left palm covering right fist.

 

15) pivot with left foot. both fists shoot out to the left side of your body. As you turn your head and look to the left. (3 point strike to the left.)

 

16) Right foot steps to left side in back of left foot (feet are crossed), then left foot steps to left side into a horse riders stance.left fist strikes outward to left side in a back knuckle strike. Right fist moves to left belt.

 

17) Pivot 45° toleft as twist intoleft front stance. Right elbow strike at mid waist area. Left palm hand comes to right elbow.

 

18) Pivot back into horse riders stance. Left fist comes toleft belt line, right palm covers left fist knuckles.

 

19) Right fist strikes downward at 45° on the right side of the body. Palm is pointed towards right side of body.

 

20) Left elbow strike in front of body as right fist comes to left belt line.

 

21) Your left foot crosses in front of right foot and then right foot steps out to right as you step into a horse riders stance......As;

 

22) Your left fist moves circularly upward and out in front of you, elbow bent at 45° stopping in front of your chest.

 

23) Right hand makes a half circle in front of left hand. Starting from the left elbow it moves up and out and then back in. ending up in front of upper chest. At the same time the left hand makes a half circle the opposite direction, ending up in front of groin.

 

24) Left fist moves behind right elbow in front of body as right hand executes a fist strike with the palm up.

 

25) Inside of right foot comes up to touch inside of left knee. As you step down right fist comes back towards you then strikes back outward palm down. (Side fist strike in front of you even with the right side of your body)

 

26) Inside of left foot comes up to touch inside of right knee. As you step down right fist moves to your right and then strikes back outward with palm up (Side fist strike in front of you even with the left side of your body)

 

27) Both hands return to left belt line, right palm covering left fist.

 

28) Pivot with right foot. Both fists shoot out to the right side of your body. As you turn your head and look to the right. (3 point strike to the right.)
